It can be a challenge to find peace and quiet in our overcrowded world. Even in the Hamptons, what was once a community of small farming and fishing villages on the furthest most tip of the East End of Long Island, the crowds arrived at the turn of the century to put their wealth on display. Now, there are few places you can be one with the glorious natural environment without the view of a mega house going up or hear noise from other humans in the distance. One of my favorite places in the world is Camp Hero in Montauk. It has an infamous history of conspiracy and extra-normal activities which certainly adds to its allure for many, but it never ceases to be magical. Especially in fall when the crowds disappear.
